I just love this time of year. Yesterday I wasn't in a bad mood, just kind of subdued and contemplative as I thought about the path of my life and the unknowns in the future. I took a nap to turn my brain off, but it didn't really help. Soo.. I decided to go for a run. There is nothing like going for a run in 60 degree weather with the sun on your face after a long winter. My whole mood lifted and as I was running I felt SO thankful for such a beautiful earth and especially for the Creator of such a beautiful earth. I feel closer to God when I'm out in nature than any other time. I love the sun. I love that the grass is turning green. I love that I can hear birds chirping outside my windows in the morning. I love that it's warm enough to wear light jackets, or NO jackets! I love that I can ride my bike around without freezing my buns off. I love that school is almost out. It's such a good time of year and I am just thankful to be alive and experiencing it!
LOVE THESE BIRKS.
And does this yellow watch just make you happy or what?
Jill, the birks look like some kind of predatory insect...or maybe a lizard, take your pick.

the watch, obviously, signals that you've been staring into the sun too much, transfixed into some sort of trance...
ReplyDeleteand regarding the earth, I agree with much of what you said...nature, the sun, the beautiful earth, BUT; here's where we diverge: greenery, birds chirping, jackets and bikes, I can do without. HOWEVER, Ice-covered roads, skis, winter storm warnings, a few rabbits and foxes pilfering around, and lots and lots of cold coldness, etc. I can live with. I feel closer to some sort of creator when those things are around.
