Scooters, trips, thoughts

So I think to myself on a daily, I should blog today. And every time I sit down to actually do it, I am lacking the desire. I read everyone else's blogs and everyone seems to be so happy with so much going on. While I think I have a lot of this in my life too, I'm in a bit of a transitional period right now that's got me in a sort of funk. When I begin writing, I feel like I have nothing interesting to say. BUT, today I am pushing this aside and trying to recap all the good that's happened lately, cause there is a lot. So without further ado, here is my list.

1. I was in Mexico one month ago exactly, and it was so fun to see such a different culture. My first time out of the country! Some of my favorite pictures from the trip.

We went 4 wheeling through the Mexican desert (SO much cactus, I've honestly never seen such an ugly place) but then after passing through tons of cacti, we popped out on the beach and the ocean was beautiful. The next day we went jet skiing on the ocean, which was a blast. I LOVE jet skiing. Stuart and I rode together, and I think he was a bit surprised when I threw him off after like 45 seconds. So of course he had to get back at me, and we spent the next hour throwing each other off the jet ski over and over. Except one time Stuart was driving, we were going like 30 mph, and we hit a wave wrong and we both went flying. I got the wind knocked out of me and a bruised rib, but it was so worth it. Then we went cliff jumping on Lovers Beach. Definitely my favorite day of the cruise. The cliff we jumped off had crabs ALL OVER IT. I don't care who you are, crabs are gross little things. I'm not much one for little critters, so these things had us all freaked out. I feel very lucky I was able to go do something so different than anything I've ever done before.

2. I bought a scooter.

I can't believe I did it. I've wanted one for awhile, just for fun. It goes 37 mph on a flat road, and if I'm lucky, 40 mph down hills. But I love cruisin around town on this baby. I'm too wimpy to drive a real motorcycle, so this is my closest alternative. I was down in Utah for a date and I thought, you know what? I'm just gonna check this scooter out while I'm down there. Ended up loving it, buying it, and now I'm the proud owner of Trixie. At least I think that will be her name, it's still TBD. June is a little jealous, but she's getting used to it :)

3. It's summer, bringing all sorts of summerly activities with it.

Boating with my rad family, softball, tennis, biking, barbecues, swimming, and vacations. I had the bright idea to ride my bike to work on a day that I don't actually work, just to see how long it would take me. 45 minutes, ONE WAY. Let's just say that is the first time, and last time, I'll be doing that. It was a great ride, but I would arrive at work sweaty and tired every day. I don't think I'd want someone like that working on my mouth.

So to sum it up, life is, of course, good. I have much to be grateful for. How lucky I am that I have a Savior who loves me and a family who supports me. Friends who care about me. A job that fulfills me. Money in the bank. Food in the cupboards. Toilet paper on the roll. And I promise, I'll do better about updating this thing. This has, I think, rekindled my like for blogging. Have a great week!!
