So I thought I'd share some of the funnies that have happened lately, intermixed with a few grateful thoughts, cause those are always good thoughts. And check out the post below this, it is new too. I got ambitious.
I have an awesome job.
Seriously,
I am one lucky lady. I have the best boss, and the best coworkers.
Everybody is friends and we look out for each other. And I have such
funny patients. One lady told me she thought she found semen in her
teeth. Ahem, excuse me? You are free to go. The dentist was shaking with
silent laughter, while I was just in shock. I asked her to repeat what she'd said, and she said it again. She was unabashed. Thought it was the most normal thing in the world to talk about that with your dentist, but to those of you who might be tempted to share that kind of information with your dentist... DON'T DO IT. I repeat, do not. We WILL make fun of you after you leave.
Then one guy kept telling
me I looked just like his sister. Then he asked if I had a boyfriend. I
told him no, and he was like, WHAT? Then after a few minutes of silence,
he says, "Don't worry. It won't be hard for you to find another." At
this point I'm getting quite uncomfortable. I've been asked out by
patients before, and it's awkward every time. One man who is divorced and has 2 kids asked me out and completely caught me off guard. I don't even like to think about that conversation.
Anyway, thankfully this guy turned out to be married with 5 kids! But he says to me, "You need to hold competitions for your next boyfriend. I'm serious, you can't let just anybody be your boyfriend. Hold trials, make them do push ups, tell you jokes...." and on and on. He was dead serious. It was pretty hilarious actually, he had all sorts of good ideas. So don't be surprised if you see me around town holding a clipboard with men surrounding me not wearing shirts and performing odd tasks. Oh my, can you imagine? The things people come up with :)
This is a lady I met on the cruise. She was absolutely hammered. Told me all about the lover she was with on the trip, and while he was sitting right there, started talking about the musician that she had an enormous crush on. Poor guy. Her eyes were going a million different directions during the whole conversation. Actually, there were a lot of conversations with drunks that really made me laugh. And watching the drunks try to get out of the hot tub, so funny. A lot of injuries, lets just put it that way.
Don't you love a good laugh? A good, hearty, genuine, laugh. Mm. They are good for the soul. There are a few people that can always draw these from me. Juline Wadsworth, Tyson Hinckley, Ellen Degeneres... Thank you guys.
